Jinggangshan Medical College, a higher institute of medical sciences, under the supervision of Jiangxi Provincial Government, was founded in 1977. After the combination with Jingganshan Normal College in the July of 2005, it has been a college of Jinggangshan University which possesses the right to enroll overseas students. Then in April, 2005, with the approval of China Education Commission, it began to enroll four-year nursing science undergraduates. And in 2006,it began to enroll four-year and five-year undergraduates of clinical medicine both at home and abroad. There are 2153 students
    Departments : The college consists of five departments. They are Basic Medical Science Department, Clinical Medicine Department, Stomatology Department, Traditional Chinese Medicine Department and Pharmacology Department.

Faculty: 15 teaching and research offices with a faculty of 128, including 7 professors and 35 assistant professors and 43 lecturers. Most teachers play a role as teaching and clinical worker with productive research fruits.

The college has 42 majors, such as clinical medicine, stomatology, woman and baby hygiene, anesthetics, Chinese medicine, Chinese and western medicine, pharmacy, inspection and medical care, and so on.

The college processes 3 laboratory centers and 7 labs---such as clinical functional training center, basic medicine laboratory center,dissecting display center, oral comprehensive lab, medicine comprehensive lab, Chinese medicine lab, and Chinese herb medicine garden and so on. The medicine biological technology lab is a  key lab of Ji’an City. The teaching of basic courses is assessed as qualified lab among Jiangxi provincial colleges.

There is an affiliated hospital with 528 sick beds and 45 medical departments and sections.
